Published in 2004 this mini book was created to coincide with the opening of the exhibition PAST FORWARD, the history of the Isokon Furniture Company held at Isokon Plus. Written by Alistair Grieve who taught the history of 19th and 20th century Western Art and Design at the University of East Anglia, he first published on Isokon in the catalogue of the exhibition Hampstead in the Thirties, A Committed Decade at the Camden Arts Centre, November 1974. This book is a revised and expanded version of that original essay.
